Passive Fundraisers Helping IVE
Do you know that IVE has four ongoing fundraising programs that require very little time, effort or money and yet raise hundreds of dollars each year for the PTA and our school? Here‘s a reminder about how each of these programs work:
Ink Cartridge Recycling
IVE PTA has a program set up with Cartridge World. This program allows non-profit organizations to raise funds by collecting useable empty printer cartridges and returning them to Cartridge World. This recycle program is simple and requires very little work.
Recycle Rewards is easy! You have two options:
1) Drop off your empty printer and laser cartridges at the drop off box located inside the IVE staff workroom.
2) OR, take them directly to Cartridge World, 1175 NW Gilman Blvd, located in the same shopping center with Sports Authority and straight back from Bank of America. Make sure to mention IVE PTA when you're dropping them off directly at the store so we get credit for your cartridges.
Remember, Cartridge World also sells replacement laser toners and ink cartridges that will save you at least 30% off the cost of new ones. Why Pay More For Ink? Again, don't forget to mention IVE PTA.
We earn an average of $1 for every cartridge recycled or refilled. Recycling cartridges can make a huge difference. Did you know:
- It takes a gallon of oil to make a new laser cartridge
- In North America, over 350 million cartridges are thrown out each year
- It can take as long as 450 years for a cartridge to decompose in a landfill
Don't throw away your empty printer cartridges. Recycle them or refill them at Cartridge World and raise money for our PTA!

Safeway 10% Goes Back to Schools Program begins August 11th! More info here and here.
Do you shop at Safeway, Macy’s or Nordtroms? These are just a few of the merchants that participate in the eScrip program where your shopping dollars can work harder and earn money for IVE.
How does the eScrip program work?
Supporters register any or all of their existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program.
Participating national, regional and local merchants will make contributions to enrolled organizations, based on purchases made by supporters, who use their registered grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards. The eScrip program will continually contract new merchants.
By using these registered cards at participating merchants, supporters generate donations based on a percentage of purchases as determined by each merchant or service provider.
Every month the enrolled organizations receive all merchant contributions made on behalf of all participants. A summarized report listing supporters, merchants, and contributions amounts are available online.
